Johnson, Oscar (15 Feb. 1869 - 30 March 1939)
Oscar Johnson, for nearly 60 years a resident of the town of Lynn and former treasurer of that township for many years, passed away at his home Thursday, March 30.
Mr. Johnson was born February 15, 1869, to Valentine and Susan Johnson in the town of Grant and died at the age of 70 years, one month and 15 days.
When about 11 years of ago, his parents moved to a farm in the town of Lynn where he grew to manhood. He was married September 23, 1902, to Maggie West of Grant and they resided on the home farm.
To this union were born four children, Milton, of Auburndale, Willard of Marshfield, Nellie, Mrs. Hubert Quicker, Neillsville, and Harvey, at home. All of the children and the mother survive.
With the exception of two years spent in Alaska before his marriage, Mr. Johnson lived all his life in the town of Grant and Lynn, for the past 21 years residing on the farm which remained his home until he took his own life last week.
Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon with Rev. E. P. Stone officiating. Burial was made in the Lynn Cemetery. Marie Waterpoopl, Rica West, and Leon Gerhardt acted as flower girls and Ed. Sternitzky, Robert Ure, Raymond Sternitzky, Herman Hasz, William Dankemyer, and Louis Wiesner were pallbearers.
